Grace Rosé

VINTAGE 2020

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc grown at the Misawa Vineyard without herbicides or chemical fertilizers are separated into small lots and are fermented separately by direct pressing and the Saignée methods, followed by maturation in old French oak barrels. By doing so, the wine expresses both the complexity of the varietal characters and the sense of place.
While the taste honestly reflects the cool climate of the production area at 700m, this single vineyard rosé cultivated with low yield is rare in the world, and the complexity and the richness of the fruit can be clearly felt.
This wine was born in 2008, from the desire of the viticulturalist-winemaker to make a dry rosé with structure in Japan.

Saignée method
In the process of making red wine, the initial coloured juice from maceration is removed from the tank and fermented into a rosé wine.

Direct press method
Black grapes for red wine are pressed like when making white wine and the juice is fermented into a rosé wine.
