Golden Week Special Tasting Events Announcement
Following the highly positive response to last November’s “Misawa Koshu” Tasting Seminar—where participants experienced the evolution and ageing potential of Koshu from the Misawa Vineyard—we are pleased to present two new tasting events. These sessions offer further opportunities to explore both the temporal dimension of wine and the distinctive character of individual growing areas.
Application Period:
April 11 (Sat) 10:00 – April 19 (Sun) 16:00
Please note that registration may close once capacity is reached.
1. [April 29] “Grace Rosé” Library Vintage Tasting
“Grace Rosé” was first produced in 2008, inspired by Ayana Misawa’s aspiration to craft a structured, dry rosé in Japan. Made in small lots from black grape varieties grown at the Misawa Vineyard, this wine expresses the complexity of single-vineyard fruit and the nuanced character of its origin.
Opportunities to experience the ageing of rosé wines are rare. This tasting offers a unique chance to explore both the intrinsic ageing potential supported by the structure of carefully cultivated, high-quality black grapes from Misawa Vineyard, and the remarkable transformations brought by time.
The tasting will present a vertical lineup from the most recent four vintages (2021–2024) back to the 2015 vintage, which has matured for over a decade. Guests will be guided by Ayana Misawa through the evolving aromatics and palate development across vintages.

2. [May 2] Koshu Horizontal Tasting
This horizontal tasting focuses on the latest 2024 vintage, examining the regional expressions of Koshu.
Although all wines are from the same vintage and within Yamanashi Prefecture, differences in altitude, sunlight exposure, and soil composition impart clear distinctions in aroma and flavour. The lineup includes four wines—“Koshu Hishiyama Vineyard,” “Koshu Torii-daira Vineyard,” “Kayagatake Koshu,” and “Grace Koshu”—allowing participants to compare how each terroir is reflected in the glass.
In addition, we will pour “Serena Extra Brut 2020,” the second sparkling wine following “Grace Blanc de Blancs.” From this vintage onward, a new approach to cépage has been introduced: Chardonnay from the Misawa Vineyard in Akeno-cho and the Hishiyama district of Katsunuma is blended with Koshu grown under trellised training and low yields—similar to “Misawa Koshu”—and finished through traditional bottle fermentation.
Within the context of tasting Koshu across different origins, guests will also discover how Koshu from the Misawa Vineyard contributes distinct character and depth to sparkling wine.
