1. Koshu Toriibira Vineyard: A Comparative Tasting of Current and Library Vintages

This tasting brings together the current release, Koshu Toriibira Vineyard 2024, and a library vintage, Koshu Toriibira Vineyard Private Reserve 2019.

Long recognised as one of Katsunuma’s distinguished vineyard sites, Toriibira produces grapes of notable concentration, yielding wines with depth, structure and the potential for extended ageing. This comparison offers an opportunity to explore Koshu’s ageing potential and the evolution of its aromas and flavours over time. Discover the depth and complexity that mature Koshu can reveal.

2. Serena Extra Brut 2020 Paired with Camembert

Serena Extra Brut 2020 is a sparkling wine made from Chardonnay and Koshu grown at Misawa Vineyard in Akeno and in the Hishiyama district of Katsunuma. Each bottle is carefully crafted by hand, from riddling on traditional pupitres to disgorgement following more than four years of bottle ageing and the final dosage.

For this tasting, we will pair the wine with Camembert from Normandy, France.

The cheese’s smooth texture and mild, creamy flavours complement Serena’s fine bubbles, developed through extended ageing, and its harmonious expression of Chardonnay and Koshu. Enjoy how the distinctive qualities of the wine and cheese come together, bringing new dimensions to the tasting.
